The Social Bonus

The social waste bonus is a benefit introduced by ARERA (Regulatory Authority for Energy Networks and Environment) in favor of families in economic hardship. It consists of a reduction in the waste tariff (TARI) owed by the household.

The benefit is granted to households whose equivalent economic situation indicator (ISEE) does not exceed the established thresholds, the same ones set for social bonuses related to electricity, gas, and water. As with the latter, the waste bonus is recognized automatically: it is not necessary to submit a specific application, but it is sufficient to have a valid ISEE certification.
